The One Secret To Success

by | Personal Development

If I had to summarize the 300 self-help books I've read over the last 5 years into the ONE secret of success, it would be this:

Master the art of choosing immediate discomfort…

What do I mean by that?

Look… your day, same as my day, is made up of conscious and unconscious choices. And those choices determine our level of success in any field.

And on top of that, we're all wired to avoid immediate pain.

Now, here's the hard part.

The choices that make us grow are the ones where we have to pick between doing an uncomfortable thing now or having huge discomfort and pain later.

And guess what, most people choose to avoid the immediate discomfort now.

You don't eat right because you choose to avoid the discomfort of finding a healthy option.

You choose to skip the workouts because it's uncomfortable and inconvenient and you'd instead do something else.

And those choices eventually catch up as fatigue, low self-esteem, debilitating diseases, and a poor quality life…

But… If you can embrace that immediate discomfort, and do what needs to be done anyway…. you'll have more success than you ever thought was possible.

“Sure Mario, but how do I do that…”

Okay, so, here's the missing piece. Making the right choice is a skill.

It has to be practiced, cultivated, and mastered.

You're not going to wake up one day, and magically start making all the right choices… Just like you won't go to bed one night and wake up with a skill of a world-class brain surgeon.

Skills take time and reps.

But that's how you can win.

You win by building up the skill of choosing the small discomforts right now.

And instant gratification? Start viewing those feelings that make you procrastinate as the real enemy.

And to defeat them you must be conscious of them, and recognize they're coming from inside, not outside.

Feel them, observe them, hold them in place, and do it anyway.

One rep at a time and eventually you'll be able to control them.

And as you make better choices, before you know it, you'll be living the kind of life that you always dreamed about.

That's what I want for you.
